Loch Rannoch and Glen Lyon National Scenic Area contain sublime walking trails and are popular with visitors of all standards. In Stirling, a county rich in history as the northernmost frontier of the Roman Empire and the former residence of the Kings of Scotland, there are many excellent hiking and cycling routes, particularly in the Ochil Hills and the Campsie Fells.
